Konecranes is a global leader in heavy-duty material handling, specializing in high-capacity forklifts for ports, terminals, steel mills, and heavy industry. Their forklifts range from 10 to 65 tons capacity, with a strong focus on electrification and sustainability.
Product Range
Konecranes offers three main forklift categories:
Diesel Forklifts (SMV C-Series)
The SMV Generation C forklifts are heavy-duty diesel trucks ranging from 18 to 33 tons. They can run on HVO100 (fossil-free diesel), reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90%. The 55-1200 C** model (2019–2025) handles 55 tons with a 1,200 mm load center, weighs 63.5 tons, and is powered by a 265 kW Volvo engine.
Electric Forklifts (E-VER Series)
The E-VER is Konecranes' flagship electric forklift, available in 18–25 ton capacities. It features fast-charging Li-ion batteries (under 1 hour), zero emissions, up to 40% more energy efficiency than competitors, up to 20% faster acceleration than diesel, and up to 50% lower noise. It also regenerates up to 15% of energy back to the battery. Konecranes plans to electrify its entire lift truck fleet by end of 2026.
Container Handlers
Specialized equipment including laden container handlers (26–52 tons), empty container handlers (8–11 tons), and reach stackers (10–46 tons).
Key Applications
Konecranes forklifts are designed for demanding environments: ports and container terminals, steel mills, mining operations, and heavy manufacturing.
The bottom line: Konecranes forklifts are purpose-built for heavy-duty lifting from 10 to 65 tons. The diesel SMV C-Series offers 18–33 ton capacities with HVO100 compatibility, while the E-VER electric series delivers 18–25 ton capacity, fast charging, up to 40% energy savings, and zero emissions. Konecranes is electrifying its entire lift truck fleet by end of 2026. The company also offers specialized container handlers and reach stackers for port operations, backed by remote monitoring and a global service network.
